Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What types of photography services do you offer?

A: I specialize in a variety of portrait photography services, including individual portraits, family portraits, maternity portraits, graduation and engagement portraits. I also offer professional headshots for individuals and product images for small businesses.

I am currently building my portfolio with milestone events such as Islamic ceremonies (engagements and wedding days.)

For Islamic Marriage Events

I only do small, intimate wedding events
(100 people or less) because I am a singular, independent photographer. Weddings/events are a big undertaking for any photographer/team. Micro-events are best fitting for me and it's an honest assessment on my part. As you consider what kind of event you are planning and seeking your photography vendor, please keep this in mind. Thank you for understanding!

How is privacy guaranteed?

From the first steps I inquire what level of privacy we are aiming to achieve with your session, if it's exclusively a women-only event or gathering. I personally like to outline this for peace of mind on both ends. Your digital photos are delivered through a online, private gallery. View my "Sisters Clause" below!

Q: How far in advance should I book a session?

A: The earlier the better to ensure availability, especially during peak seasons!

For portrait sessions: I recommend booking latest 2-4 weeks in advance, but feel free to submit an inquiry within the timeframe, as I may have availability.

For event coverage: Book as soon as you know you need a photographer and you have solidified your date and venue.

Inquiries for any event coverage, within the week of the event can be submitted for availability. No event coverage inquiries within 48 hours.

Q: Where are you located?

A: I live in Brooklyn, New York.

The desired location for your session or event coverage needs to be disclosed in your inquiry form, then agreed upon during the booking process.

Examples:
1. An in-home photo session for a 1st year cake smash
2. A Cap & Gown photo session in Central Park, N.Y.C.
3. Client's booked venue where their event will be hosted

Q: How long does a portrait session typically last?

A: The duration of a session depends on the type and complexity of the session. Generally, a standard portrait/milestone session lasts between 1 to 2 hours, allowing ample time for different poses, adjusting camera equipment, also if outlined beforehand— account for multiple locations and outfit changes.

Note: Sessions involving children may require more time and event coverage may require a half-day or full day timeline to follow.

Q: What should I wear for my portrait session?

A: I would suggest wearing clothing that reflects your personal style and makes you feel comfortable. Solid colors or subtle patterns generally work well, avoiding large logos or busy patterns that can be distracting. I can provide additional guidance on wardrobe choices after your session has been booked, in our chats, based on the specific type of portrait session we will aim to achieve.

Q: When will I receive my photographs?

A: I carefully select and edit the best images to deliver to you. I understand your excitement to see the final results! Rest assure. Your final gallery will be delivered by email to view, download, and share as soon as possible after editing.

Portrait Sessions: You can expect to receive your finalized digital images about 4 weeks after your session.

Event Coverage produces a larger final gallery to be edited and then delivered, and so a tailored Deliverables Timeline will be provided for you after booking.

Do you release RAW/ unedited images?

No. The main reason for this is because unedited photos are not representative of my final product and edited photos in my style are what you pay for. Unlike RAW/unedited photos, the final edited photos reflect of the time and creative process I have poured into your gallery.

It is outlined in my service agreement that I do not release RAW/unedited files and that I have creative liberty on the editing.

It is important that as a client you must admire your photographer's style, as you are placing a lot of trust in their talent and abilities. So I am very appreciative when my clients understand my portfolio as they will be agreeing to grant me creative liberty when editing their gallery.

Sisters Clause

Here's an example of the sisters clause I include in my contract.

"The Photographer acknowledges and respects the privacy rights of all Clients. Photos containing the unveiled image of the Client and/or the Bride will be deleted 30 days after the final edited images are delivered. All images are deleted from devices in the Photographers possession (computers/laptops, hard drives and memory cards except for those images granted permission by the Client in a Photo Release Agreement."

Photo Release Agreement = After final gallery is delivered there are certain photos I would love to share in my portfolio, website and/or social media accounts. Depending on the level of privacy desired by the client, I may ask for a faceless photo to be shared or details of events.
